Reunion 2008

The 40th annual alumni reunion will be held Friday, Aug. 1 right here at Archbishop Walsh High School. An alumni golf tournament will take place the following day, Saturday, Aug. 2, at Holiday Valley Golf Course in Ellicottville, N.Y. This year’s reunion will honor the classes of 1963, ’68, ’73, ’78, ’83, ’88, ’93, ’98 and ’03; however, as always, we encourage alumni from all class years to attend the event as we celebrate the proud tradition that is Walsh High School.

This summer’s event will kick off Friday night with a happy hour from 6 to 7 p.m. in the front lawn. A station-style dinner in the school gymnasium will follow. This year’s menu includes beef on wicks, sliced honey ham, sausage, meatballs, shrimp cocktail, tomato bruschetta and a variety of other foods and snacks. Our second annual wall of fame induction ceremony will take place after dinner. Wall of Fame applications can be found in the newsletter or on the school’s website and will be accepted until July 23. Music and dancing from 9 to midnight will conclude the evening’s festivities.

Plans for the golf tournament are not yet finalized but the event will take place August 2. The fee of $75-$85 will include 18 holes of golf, a cart, chances in various raffles and dinner. O’Laughlin Motors of Salamanca has also generously donated a Cadillac for the first person who manages to sink a hole-in-one.

An official invitation to the 40th annual reunion will be coming in the mail in the next few weeks. If you would like to serve as a class agent, please e-mail J.P. Butler at archbishopwalshalumni@yahoo.com.
